Back to School
About the commercial announcements that summer is over
The Sunday circulars race to announce
Way too soon, our summer is done
In the stores the crowds will pounce
On everything for school under the sun
Trendy new outfit's in the latest styles
Hot shoes for sports and classes
All those notebooks in their piles
Do your shopping before the masses
If you are moving into a dorm
Then you'll need other things
Hampers & such, of function & form
Leaving your home, sprouting wings
I refuse to think that summer's over
I refuse the commercial calendar
I'll stay in the grass and smell the clover
I'll determine my own summer ender
