My Mailbox
About my mailbox, which is the suburban/rural kind with the red flag
My mailbox sits upon a post
It's standard issue black
(They're by houses coast to coast)
I open it and there's a stack
Of white envelopes and magazines
Grocery ads and flyers
Holiday cards with pretty scenes
And real estate ads courting buyers
Yes, even in a touch economy
The mail box is replete
With offers to spend your money
And get credit deals you can't beat
I hate to say that much
Goes right to the recycle bin
We keep mainly bills and such
And empty the box to put more in
