An Anniversary Poem

For your wife on your anniversary

Wife of mine; how many years?
Of course I know, stop those tears

A dozen roses, here
I wouldn't forget, dear

And too, there's more surprise
Do you see the twinkle in my eyes?

I've reservations for tonight
A gourmet dinner by candlelight

And then a sumptuous B&B suite
With Jacuzzi, and I'll massage your feet

But if the flowers were all I had
You wouldn't think of me as bad?

You'd know that I try really hard
By the way, here's the card
