Love at Twilight

A love sonnet

Twilight, the time between dark and light
Just after sunset, a perfect hour for romance
The antithesis of dawn, when one might
Give a kiss, or caress or tender mood enhance

These few moments, this transition to night
Captures what's left of the sun's yellow rays
Speak words of love now, 'tis your right
You're not apt to hear complaints or nays

Hand her now a rose or other sweet flower
Touch gently her cheek with brush of finger
Your lady is bewitched by this magic hour
Eyes closed, she awaits your lips' linger

So much passion to give, but that can come
Later, after twilight, hear her heart, a hum
