Little Duckies Swimming Gaily

About ducks and the environment

Little duckies swimming gaily
Little fishes in their schools
Little insects flitting lazily
Little frogs in hidden pools

Pond life is a wonder
When seen by human eyes
Let the pond be torn asunder
It will restore, that's no surprise

Nature's way of keeping balance
Sometimes we meddle much
We need to weigh what we advance
And watch whatever we do touch

Sometimes, the human fix
Is not the right one at all
Remember we are but a blip
In worldly time; let's have no gall

They say that "we caused it"
But many factors contribute
They say we can't "undo it"
Yes, of course, let's not pollute

But they say the climate's warming
In perhaps thirty years or so
They'll sound another bell alarming
The temp is goin' twenty below
