Watch With Wonder, Watch With Awe
On rainbows, sunsets and the countryside
Watch with wonder
Watch with awe
Brilliant rainbow to the ground
A high arc like a horseshoe or wicket
I reach for it and
Imagine the touch of prismed light
Poring through my skin
We're on a dirt road hardly traveled
To the right a field of sunflowers
Barely taller than my knee
Rocker arms of pumping oil well
Bales of hay to the left
Perfection not done yet
We turnaround
The sunset, clouds aflame
Peaking sky still blue
Watch with wonder
Watch with awe
