Going East to Farm Country

About going east to get a short taste of country life

Going east to farm country
For the 4th of July
4-H club country
Americana values

Rodeos and gymkhana
Cowboy hats and John Deere caps
Pickup trucks and high boots
Tractors, pies, blue skies

Way of life, way of earning
Sometimes I'm yearning
To live in a small town
Out east with the silos

Green fields of corn
With the cows
Roosters crowing, up at dawn
Don't think I can make this change
But I go east when I can
