Another Bright Idea

A poem on the unwise or silly decisions made by the government

The feds had another bright idea
To create a tax that's not a tax
See, they're running out of cash, it's clear
And most of the folks don't know the facts

The gov has a habit of this you see
Like extending a program with a sunset
That, years before, the people agreed
'cause it was limited, but they forget

Laws need to be measured, read, understood
And wanted by the citizen taxpayers
Otherwise they'll do no real good
And a cry will arise from the naysayers

Yes the environment is a good cause
And health care for all is commendable
Don't cripple small business with too many laws
Or taxes, too, our foundation is not expendable
